GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
Perform a variety of clerical duties involved in maintaining patient medical records in accordance with established policies and procedures within any area of the Medical Record Department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Process/examine all chart notes for completeness ensuring all required information is included; note any deficiencies and refer to appropriate area for follow-up. Send completed notes to referring providers in a timely manner.
- Collate, sort and identify a variety of medical information for scanning/queuing into EMR system
- Maintain/verify doctor’s dictation register daily to determine deficient chart notes manually and electronic, must be reported daily.
- Note any discrepancy in chart information and report to Supervisor (ex. Duplicate chart numbers/misfiles).
- All other duties as assigned.
