Special Education Paraeducator Health Care Severe - CES

Under the supervision of a credentialed school nurse and site administrator, performs medical treatments and procedures necessary in providing specialized physical health care inservices to pupils with exceptional needs; acts as a paraprofessional assistant to a certificated teacher in performing assigned tasks.

1. Must successfully complete a pre-employment medical examination and be free of communicable diseases. Must meet district and state standards for physical and mental health. 2. High school diploma or equivalency. 3. Able to pass the District Proficiency Examination. 4. Knowledge of proper English usage and grammar. 5. General clerical experience and knowledge of office machines is desirable. 6. Experience and work involving the supervision of students is desirable. 7. One year paid experience providing related health care services such as certified nursing assistant, EMT, LVN, or RN. Completion of 30 college semester units in nursing or other appropriate health related field may substitute for the required experience. 8. CPR and First Aid certified. 9. May be required to attend specialized training.

Salary: Range 15 – New Hire Initial Placement, Step 1 – Step 3: $24.01 - $25.22 per hour

This position is 6 hours per day from 7:45 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., Wednesday 7:45 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.
