Encore at Wilmington is currently hiring for a PT Security Officer. The PT shift is Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 5PM- 12PM.
The Security Officer will work in accordance with established policies and procedures and/or specific instructions from the
Director of Plant Operations. The Security Officer is responsible for assisting in the day to day
operation of the Security department to ensure the safety of the Community, its residents, staff and
visitors.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES:
1. During emergencies or natural disasters, employee may be required to report for duty as
assigned by the Director of Plant Operations for the duration of the disaster.
2. Maintains acceptable standards of personal hygiene and complies with department dress code.
3. Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
4. Responsible for ensuring authorization to admit all incoming traffic according to established
Policy and Procedures.
5. Completes assigned Security schedule daily run sheets, avoids overtime as necessary, while
keeping the integrity and security of the community.
6. May be on call to accommodate other staff schedules, call-outs, time off, etc.
7. Assists management with maintaining marketing and other community events to provide traffic
direction, guest check-in, parking and security as needed.
8. Conducts special projects as assigned by the Director as required.
9. Keeps management abreast of security matters as necessary in a timely manner.
10. Performs scheduled rounds both inside and outside of the buildings to maintain a secure
environment.
11. Assists in identifying department needs.
12. Assists in invoicing and processing of invoices for Security.
13. Orders and maintains Security supplies, tools, and forms.
14. Observes and participates in use of Universal Precautions.
15. Responsible for assisting in all phases of safety training including but not limited to performing
fire drills and safety inspections and to make recommendations on needed corrections.
16. Monitors and maintains scheduled security checks, walking inspections and radio requests.
17. Responds to the emergency response system following standard operating procedure. Door
unlock log, e-call log, doctor run sheets.
18. Responsible for maintaining timely, accurate reports and logs, including, but not limited to,
incident reports, safety inspections, repair and service requests, emergency call logs, doctor
run sheets and delivering pass-on reports to relief officers.
19. Responsible for immediate notification of all emergencies to appropriate personnel, including,
but not limited to, the Executive Director and/or Administrator, Department Heads, Supervisor
and Health Center Charge Nurse

QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma is preferred. Must have the ability to read, write and speak English.
Position requires a valid Florida Driver License. Position requires a Class "D" Security License.
Must have the ability to obtain a CPR/AED certification. Prefer security and transportation
background. Must have high proficiency using various computer applications.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Position requires walking or standing 50% of the time. Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds.
Must be able to move quickly, bend, stoop, squat, twist, climb ladder, maintain balance, and
climb stairs. Must have the ability to perform gross and fine motor skills. May be exposed to
the elements of weather as duty requires, heat, humidity, rain and exhaust fumes. The remainder
of the time the employee is surrounded by regular building comfort conditions.
