Pay Rate: $15 per hour
Position Summary
Sun Harbor is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Housekeeper/Laundry Aide to join our team. This role is essential to maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, and committed to upholding high standards of cleanliness, infection control, and resident dignity.
Key Responsibilities

Perform daily housekeeping tasks as assigned, following established schedules.

Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, hallways, stairways, and elevators.

Sweep, mop, strip, wax, buff, and disinfect floors; vacuum and shampoo carpets as needed.

Clean windows, mirrors, walls, ceilings, furnishings, fixtures, and HVAC units.

Remove dirt, dust, grease, and stains using proper cleaning and disinfecting solutions.

Ensure safety signage is used appropriately during cleaning activities.

Dispose of refuse daily according to sanitation policies.

Report maintenance issues such as burned-out lights or unsafe conditions promptly.

Turn in lost and found items to the supervisor.
-
Maintain control and accurate tracking of resident clothing.

Distribute laundered clothing daily, ensuring names and room numbers are correct and legible.

Relabel clothing items as needed.
-
Organize resident closets.
-
Complete Resident Clothing Forms for new or received clothing and personal items (TVs, DVDs, etc.).

Adhere to HIPAA, infection control, universal precautions, and fire safety policies.

Follow proper procedures for chemical handling, labeling, and SDS usage.

Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

Participate in required in-service training.

Report accidents, incidents, or hazardous conditions immediately.

Coordinate housekeeping activities with nursing staff as needed.

Maintain clean and organized supply carts, equipment, and storage areas.

Monitor supply levels and notify supervisor of needs.

Assist with lifting heavy equipment or supplies when requested.

Build positive working relationships with staff, residents, and families.

Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
Candidate Requirements

Ability to work independently, follow instructions, and accept constructive feedback.

Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.

Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and chemical mixing procedures.

Nursing home or healthcare facility experience preferred, but not required.
