Location: East Valley – Mesa Area
Schedule: Friday 10:00 AM - 11:00 PM, Saturday 7:45 AM - 11:00 PM & Sunday 7:45 AM -11:00PM
Compensation: $19–$21/hour | Full-time, Non-exempt
About the Program
The Weekend Retreat is a transformative 3-day experience designed to empower children and youth through therapeutic activities and life skills development. Our goal is to foster emotional resilience, confidence, and growth in a safe and supportive environment.
About the Role
As a Respite Direct Care Staff member, you’ll be at the heart of the retreat experience. Partnering with experienced Life Skills Coaches, you’ll help implement goal-driven treatment plans, support day-to-day activities, and build meaningful relationships with participants.
Responsibilities
Lead interactive group counseling sessions to encourage self-expression and peer connection
Support youth in building emotional regulation, life skills, and relationship management
Implement clinician-informed treatment plans tailored to individual needs
Build strong, trusting therapeutic relationships with participants
Engage in recreational activities, meals, and outings to foster community
Promote real-time skill application in everyday settings
Provide safe, supportive transportation to and from retreat locations
Qualifications
Minimum of High School Diploma or Equivalent plus 1 year of behavioral health experience – OR –
Bachelor’s Degree in a Related Field
Must be 21+ with a valid driver’s license
Fingerprint clearance card, CPR/First Aid certification, TB test, clean MVD report
Background check and drug screening required
Completion of required trainings: Fraud & Abuse, Driver Refresher, Medication Administration, Emergency Safety Response
Work Environment
Retreat sites, client homes, and community settings
Gilbert office locations
Agency vehicles, including 12–15 passenger vans
Physical & Sensory Requirements
Frequent movement: sitting, walking, driving, bending, grasping
Lift/carry up to 50 lbs
Drive safely in varying conditions
Participate in outdoor activities, including during summer heat
Implement non-violent physical emergency safety response measures
Maintain visual and auditory awareness of client behavior
Effectively read instructions and communicate both verbally and in writing
