We’re looking for reliable, caring, and community-minded individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of students. As a Van Driver, you play an important role in creating a positive, supportive environment where safety and respect come first.

What You’ll Do

As a Van Driver, you’ll safely transport students while helping build a healthy, positive atmosphere throughout each trip. You’ll represent Lake Country’s commitment to professionalism, care, and service — both on the road and in every interaction.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive a van along a designated route to pick up and drop off students at scheduled stops
• Follow all LCT policies, procedures, and safety standards, including the Pre-Trip Outline and Smith System concepts
• Safely load and unload each scholar in a timely manner
• Ensure seatbelts are secured for each scholar as needed
• Listen, problem-solve, and use sound judgment in all situations
• “Confront with Caring” when corrections are needed, modeling respect and professionalism
• Communicate effectively and positively with parents, guardians, and scholars
• Provide positive feedback and encouragement to scholars to promote growth and good behavior
• Keep the interior and exterior of the van clean and presentable
• Maintain logs and reports, which may include mileage, fuel consumption, and student counts
• Help foster a healthy, supportive, and productive culture among staff and students

Education & Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Must meet all DOT and company standards for safety and reliability
• Previous experience working with students or in transportation is helpful but not required
