Job Description
Are you a Structural or Civil Engineering student eager to gain real-world, hands-on experience while working alongside experienced structural engineers? Join Encorus Group, a multidisciplinary engineering firm where interns don’t just observe—they contribute. This internship is designed to help you grow your technical skills, explore your interests, and build a strong foundation for a future career in structural engineering.
You’ll work on a variety of AEC and industrial projects, gaining exposure to structural steel, concrete, masonry, timber systems, foundations, and industrial process structures—all within a collaborative, supportive environment that values mentorship, learning, and curiosity.
Responsibilities
• Assist with structural analysis, design, and detailing of steel, concrete, masonry, and timber systems.
• Support the development of design drawings, calculations, specifications, and project documentation.
• Perform basic drafting, redlines, documentation updates, and project file coordination.
• Coordinate design work with internal teams and external professionals, including architects and other engineering disciplines.
• Assist project managers with correspondence, material takeoffs, design concepts, calculations, and deliverables.
• Complete engineering assignments that require critical thinking and creative problem-solving for unique or non-standard structural conditions.
• Work independently on small project tasks and assist senior engineers on larger, more complex projects.
• Participate in both office and field assignments, including site visits for field verification and inspections.
• Ensure accuracy, quality, and completeness of assigned deliverables.
Qualifications
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a structural concentration.
• Interest in pursuing Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and engineering/design software such as AutoCAD, MathCAD, STAAD Pro, or similar analytical tools.
• Ability to collect and verify design and field information, including dimensions, clearances, and constructability considerations.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong teamwork skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Ability to comply with company drug screening, including pre-employment testing.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to local job sites.
Pay Range
The hourly pay range for this position is $20.00 – $25.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be based on the candidate’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Encorus Group is an equal opportunity employer (EOE/AA Disability/Veteran) and is committed to fair and equitable compensation.
