Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Shift: 1st or 2nd

Pay: Up to $34/hr.

Location: Grand Rapids, MI


Job Overview:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial manufacturing equipment and facility systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role supports production by performing preventative maintenance, responding to equipment issues, and assisting with improvements across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and die cast-related systems.


Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and install hydraulic systems, including pumps, valves, cylinders, and related components.
  • Perform cutting, welding, and metal fabrication to repair or modify equipment and structures.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and install electrical systems (110V, 220V, and 440V).
  • Maintain and repair gas-fired molten metal furnaces and related equipment.
  • Perform pipe fitting and plumbing repairs as needed throughout the facility.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and support industrial robots, including ABB robots, with basic programming and adjustments.
  • Repair and maintain water pumps, conveyors, and material handling systems.
  • Safely move, rig, and reposition machinery as required.
  • Read, troubleshoot, and modify PLC programs (Allen-Bradley platforms including SLC, 503, MicroLogix, and ControlLogix using RSLogix).
  • Perform preventative maintenance on die cast machines, trim presses, air compressors, conveyors, and general building systems.
  • Rebuild machinery and mechanical components as required to minimize downtime.
  • Participate in plant shutdown and lock-up procedures for all facilities, including securing equipment and dumpsters.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in a die casting or heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience working with PLC systems and industrial automation preferred.
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. from floor to waist.
