Position Overview

The S&D Associate aka Warehouse Attendant is a part time role at our Commissary Kitchen and Warehouse in Oakland, CA. They will assist in receiving, organizing, packing out and maintaining cleanliness and order of all of the snack, drink and compostable items.

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Organize all snack and drinks and compostable items on the metro racks and fridges
• Organize everything by FIFO and have labels out and clearly visible. If no label is obvious on the item, please write one in green tape. 
• Receive any vendor and package deliveries that come to 1325, notating items that were shorted/out of stock. 
• Keep track of all the paperwork that arrives with orders and put in the FOH office to be coded 
• Pack out all snacks, drinks, kegs and compostable items that are requested for each account on black carts or in refrigeration areas and clearly labeled for which account they belong to
• Review Slack channels as orders are coming through from the S&D attendants and mark them down on the S&D sheets at HQ. 
• Pack out all refrigerated items in milk crates and organize in the walk-in, cooler, freezer and freestanding refrigerators in the designated snack and drink area 
• If items that are requested are no longer available or come in a different flavor, cross out what was asked and write in what is being sent instead and highlight it. 
• Maintain communication with all snack and drink attendants and driver specialists via Slack, for any questions or comments you may have about their pack out requests.
• Taking inventory of all snacks and drinks once a week by using an excel spreadsheet and providing to the WOM - S&D for ordering needs, as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements

• 2+ years experience in a formal kitchen environment or food operation with a passion for food and people
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, communication and patience
• Attendance and punctuality is required with schedule flexibility determined by needs 
• Ability to be a self-sufficient problem solver and make sound decisions on-the-fly 
• Basic Food Handler Certification
• Knowledge of safety and sanitation 
• Basic understanding of workplace communication tools (such as Slack)
• Basic understanding of online inventory systems 
• Experience with stocking and merchandising is a plus 
• Smart Phone Mobile device required for daily communications
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs 

Schedule & Expectations

Typical schedule is Monday through Friday with hours dependent on the service. You are responsible for managing your schedule, based on your shift availability, with your supervisor.

Shift details: Mon 5am - 10am; Tue 5am - 1:30pm; Fri 5am - 11am
