Position Purpose

Safely perform all bundle movement and outbound load preparation throughout the SBQ process. This role is responsible for bundle production, processing, rework/resampling, and bundle cutting activities while maintaining a strong focus on personal safety and the safety of others. Additional duties may be assigned as operational needs require.

Schedule & Pay

  • Schedule: 5-2-2-5 rotating schedule
  • Hours: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Starting Pay: $22.00 per hour

Physical Requirements

  • Constant sitting
  • Frequent foot use
  • Occasional standing, walking, reaching more than 15 inches from the body, use of fine motor skills, and lifting up to 10 lbs
  • Minimal below-waist work, climbing, balancing, pushing/pulling, carrying, reaching above shoulder height, and forceful motion
  • Frequent climbing in and out of heavy machinery throughout the workday
  • Ability to meet physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation, as outlined in the Job Analysis Database

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent (GEDWorks program eligible)
  • Basic math, communication, and computer skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to follow and give instructions
  • Basic problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Forklift and/or overhead crane experience

Major Accountabilities

  • Transfer steel bundles between storage locations and designated input/output areas
  • Accurately record inventory and storage documentation for materials placed into inventory or scheduled for shipment
  • Monitor the SBQ dispatch table and unload materials as needed
  • Utilize the SBQ unloader schedule to determine bundle length and plan storage locations
  • Move material in a safe and efficient manner
  • Support Quality by retrieving and restocking rework and resampled bundles when requested
  • Identify, isolate, and report quality issues to supervisors or Quality personnel
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by the supervisor
  • Follow all safety, environmental, quality, and work rules
  • Comply with Environmental, Quality, and Safety Management System requirements

Position Challenges

  • Training period: Minimum 800 hours / Maximum 1,000 hours
  • Recertification requirement: 36 hours per quarter
