Description of Work:The College of Business at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) is seeking applicants for the position of non-tenure track Assistant Professor of Practice in Management beginning in Fall 2026. The faculty member will be an integral part of the Department’s and College’s long-term commitment to teaching excellence and will be expected to teach a variety of courses in strategic management and entrepreneurship at the undergraduate and graduate levels, both online and in-person. Professors of Practice are teaching specialists and are hired on multi-year contracts, renewable subject to performance. Responsibilities will include 80% teaching (four sections each Fall and Spring semesters, or annual equivalent) and 20% service. This will be an academic year (i.e., nine-month) appointment. Local residency is required as the majority of teaching responsibilities will be conducted in person. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
About the Department of Management
The Department of Management () consists of 26 faculty members – 15 tenured or tenure-track faculty, 10 professors of practice, and one lecturer. The Department is responsible for teaching College of Business courses in areas related to organizational behavior, human resource management, business strategy, entrepreneurship, and international business. Included within the Department are majors in management and international business, as well as minors in entrepreneurship and global leadership. At the graduate level, the Department is responsible for management- and entrepreneurship-related courses in the online MBA program and offers graduate certificate programs in strategic innovation and entrepreneurship, as well as strategic human resource management.
