Intake Specialist

Description:

The Intake Specialist serves as a key member of Forward Health’s Admissions Team and is often the first point of contact for individuals seeking services. This role is responsible for answering inbound inquiries, conducting initial pre-screens, and guiding prospective clients through the admissions process with empathy, professionalism, and accuracy.

The Intake Specialist builds rapport with individuals during vulnerable moments, provides clear and compassionate information about services, coordinates intake appointments, and ensures all documentation is completed accurately and in compliance with confidentiality and HIPAA requirements. This position plays a critical role in creating a supportive and respectful first impression of Forward Health.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Answer inbound calls from individuals seeking treatment or services
  
• Conduct pre-screens and collect required client information
  
• Provide clear, compassionate guidance through the admissions process
  
• Establish rapport and engage potential clients with empathy and professionalism
  
• Coordinate intake appointments and admissions logistics
  
• Accurately document all interactions in accordance with agency standards
  
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and organizational policies

• Comfort handling sensitive and emotionally charged conversations
  
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  
• Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
  
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to accurately document interactions
  
• Prior experience in healthcare, behavioral health, admissions, or a related field preferred
  
• Demonstrated passion for helping individuals take the first step toward recovery
