Job Description
A fast-growing, venture-backed SaaS company in the marketing space is seeking a Accounting Manager to build and lead its accounting function. This is a high-impact role for someone who enjoys creating structure, improving processes, and working closely with executive leadership during a period of rapid growth.
This role is ideal for a Senior Accountant or Accounting Manager ready to step into a leadership position and take ownership of core accounting operations.
Location:
This position is based in Houston, TX (hybrid with monthly travel required.)
What You'll Do:
• Build and lead the company's accounting function
• Own the monthly close process and general ledger integrity
• Establish accounting policies, documentation, and internal controls
• Partner closely with a fractional CFO and executive leadership
• Prepare financial statements and support audit readiness
• Help evaluate and implement a new ERP system
• Hire and manage a bookkeeper as the team grows
• Develop and maintain SaaS metrics and reporting (ARR, churn, revenue recognition, etc.)
What We're Looking For
Required:
• SaaS accounting experience with strong KPI fluency
• Experience building or improving accounting processes
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and close management
• Comfortable working in a lean, evolving environment
• Hands on, self-directed, and organized
Preferred:
• CPA or actively pursuing CPA
• ERP implementation exposure
