Job Title: Scheduler Manager
Location: Carson, CA
Client: County of LA Public Works
Work Schedule: This position follows a 9/80 work schedule (nine-hour days with one day off every other week).
Project Details (Size, SOW, Site Background, etc.):The Harbor University of Los Angeles (HUCLA) Replacement Project is a $1.6B multi year program. The program consist of various small, medium and large projects. The current HUCLA medical center hospital is not compliant with the state mandate seismic code, and therefore a need for replacement new hospital. In addition, there will be outpatient, support building, parking structure/surface lots, central utility plant, 12KV/66KV substation and utility corridor projects.
Daily Responsibilities:Overall quality assurance of scheduling services.
Program schedule update, revisions, cost, and resource loading, and run regular cash flow report.
Oversee Scheduling staff at the program, mentor/assist for review of baseline schedules and monthly and weekly schedule updates.
Prepare what-if scenario schedules that are based on a change in sequence and inform management of the possible outcome of the re-sequence.
Review/analyze time impacts, and provide time-impact resolutions.
Take duties of "Program Controls Manager" at times when he/she is off or needs additional support.
Lead and manage scheduling efforts across multiple projects, coordinating and guiding project schedulers and analysts to ensure consistent standards and deliverables.
Develop, maintain, and analyze detailed project schedules using Primavera P6, supporting planning, execution, and reporting activities.
Perform critical path, delay, and float analyses to identify schedule risks, impacts, and mitigation strategies.
Review and approve contractor schedule updates, ensuring accurate logic, progress, and sequencing.
Compare monthly schedule updates to the approved baseline, identifying variances and documenting schedule performance.
Proactively optimize schedules by identifying inefficiencies, adjusting logic, and directing milestone recovery plans.
Oversee the preparation of schedule dashboards, cash flow analyses, and performance reports using Excel, with detailed narratives developed in Word.
Manage schedule documentation, reports, and workflows through SharePoint, ensuring version control and stakeholder access.
Support and review RFI and change order schedule impact analyses, providing time-related recommendations.
Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and leadership to ensure schedules reflect constructability, field conditions, and execution constraints.
B.S civil or construction management
10+ years of experience in scheduling.
Self-starter with a proactive, results-oriented mindset and willingness to assume additional responsibilities.
Very good knowledge of construction means and methods, sequencing, and strong knowledge of Oracle P6, including MS Office Suite and Bluebeam.
Previous work experience working as a senior scheduler on a hospital or medical project is a plus.
Some oversight of staff is a requirement.
