Overview
Vayan Group is seeking a Quality Engineer to support manufacturing quality operations, customer requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives across multiple U.S. sites. This role is responsible for establishing quality standards, supporting inspection and assembly operations, performing audits, and serving as a customer-facing quality representative.
The Quality Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and customer-specific requirements while supporting project execution, training, and non-conforming material management in fast-paced manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
· Serve as the primary quality representative and customer liaison on assigned projects
· Establish and maintain work standards aligned with customer requirements and Vayan guidelines
· Support project setup, job processing, and workflow execution at customer sites
· Train, coach, and supervise inspectors and assemblers
· Review, evaluate, and improve work instructions and quality documentation
· Perform and document Layered Process Audits (LPAs) and internal audits
· Coordinate handling of non-conforming, reject, and scrap materials
· Conduct scrap analysis and support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
· Coordinate with logistics to ensure proper material flow and job execution
· Support quality planning activities including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC
· Collect, analyze, and report quality and operational data
· Support calibration, inspection, and testing activities
· Coordinate machine and assembly equipment repairs and documentation
· Ensure compliance with Vayan’s Quality Management System and customer-specific requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field; OR 5–8 years equivalent experience.
· Strong understanding of customer-specific quality requirements
· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and prints
· Experience with scrap analysis, problem solving, and root cause analysis
· Working knowledge of Layered Process Audits (LPA)
· Strong customer-facing communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to work in fast-paced manufacturing and warehouse environments
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
· Willingness to travel to customer sites as required
