Job Description:

Join Our Fun, Team-Centric Orthodontic Family in Escondido 

Dental Assistant – Ortho Experience Preferred, 2+ Years Total Chairside

We're a patient-centered, high-energy orthodontic practice in Escondido dedicated to creating beautiful smiles and lifelong confidence. Our tight-knit team thrives on collaboration, positivity, mutual support, and celebrating each other's wins—because great smiles start with a great team!

What You'll Do (Ortho-Focused Chairside Magic):

  • Greet and prepare patients for appointments, review health histories, and ensure a positive experience
  • Take precise digital X-rays, photos, and impressions for aligners, retainers, records for new patient consultants.
  • Provide expert chairside orthodontic support under supervision of doctor
  • Place and ligate arch wires, ties, and auxiliaries
  • Educate patients & parents on care instructions, hygiene, and appliance maintenance
  • Assist with Invisalign/aligner deliveries, scans, and IPR as directed
  • Maintain strict sterilization/infection control and keep our beautiful clinical areas spotless
  • Help with patient flow, digital charting (Ortho2 Edge), and team coordination

 

What We're Looking For:

  • Dental Assistant with orthodontic experience
    • Active California Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license a plus
  • Current California X-ray (Radiation Safety) certification
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • 2+ years** chairside experience (orthodontic experience strongly preferred)
  • Solid understanding of orthodontic procedures, instruments, and materials
  • Warm, friendly, patient (and parent!) communication style—patience and enthusiasm are key
  • Team-oriented mindset: reliable, proactive, positive, and always willing to jump in to help colleagues
  • Detail-focused with great hand skills and comfort in a fast-paced, upbeat ortho setting
  • Experience with digital Imaging/scanners
