The Campus Bookstore student worker plays a vital role in creating a welcoming and efficient shopping experience for the Union College community. Responsibilities include assisting customers with purchases and inquiries, operating the cash register, restocking shelves, organizing merchandise, and maintaining a clean and orderly store environment. Student workers may also support online order processing, textbook organization, and event preparation. Strong communication skills, reliability, and a positive attitude are essential.Department: The Campus Store

Work Available: Hours vary based on store needs and student availability. Weekend and evening shifts may be required during peak periods (e.g., start of term, events, or textbook rush).
Rate of Pay: $9.70/hr

Key Responsibilities:
· Greet and assist customers in a courteous and professional manner
· Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system to process sales and returns
· Restock merchandise and maintain organized product displays
· Assist with receiving, tagging, and inventory of new merchandise
· Support textbook processing, including shelving and organization
· Fulfill and package online and in-store pickup orders
· Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of sales floor and back stock areas
· Assist with special store events and seasonal sales
· Follow all store policies and procedures
Qualifications:
· Currently enrolled Union College student
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
· Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods
· Previous retail or customer service experience is a plus, but not required
