Final inspection for quality before the material is shipped. Palletize and shrink wrap material to insure delivery without damage.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Receive product into work area:
  • Check doors
  • Match to invoices
  • Verify ship dates
  • Verify color
  • Visual inspection of product:
  • Check species and style of product,
  • Check for defects (veneer cracks, chips, dings, nicks, etc.)
  • Check product for correct hinge mortising depth, hinge color bores, stop and jamb reveal, and bevel cuts.
  • Proper protection for single slabs, single pre-hung, double pre-hung, and multiple doors on door pallets, including weather tight wrapping.
  • Working knowledge of door wrapping machine, including care and maintenance, spool changing, operation, and troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of pick ticket labels for doors, including the ability to type labels, providing accurate descriptions of doors on labels, and correctly labeling the doors squarely on the edge of the door for easy and efficient identification.
  • Working knowledge of labeling machines, including the ability to change labels and ribbons.
  • Working knowledge of the computer system, including the ability to make cyber-inquires on pick tickets, purchase orders, and product availability.
  • Working knowledge of warehouse stock, including locations for various doors.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 2 years of experience in packaging or manufacturing environment

 

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all team members, including door machinists, sales associates, supervisors, and managers.
  • Be highly organized and able to keep jobs together.
  • The ability to interact with all Badger Corrugating team members.
  • The ability to understand pick tickets, ship dates, and loads for both city and route trucks.
  • The ability to access information from the computer. This includes:
  • Pick ticket delivery dates and information
  • Purchase order arrivals and information
  • Customer information
  • The ability to communicate with supervisors and team members of other departments to coordinate information on a customer’s order.
  • A high sense of urgency and a willingness to work as a team, not as an individual.
  • Understanding the nature of wood species and veneers, along with their individual characteristics.
