Job Description
PTS Automation is seeking a talented and experienced Controls Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will design, develop, and implement control systems for a variety of automation projects across multiple industries. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver tailored, high-performance solutions that meet and exceed client expectations.

This position requires a creative thinker with excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills. The ideal candidate is self-driven and comfortable working independently while supporting both internal teams and customers.

Responsibilities

• Program, and implement control systems using PLCs, HMIs, servo drives, VFDs, vision systems, and mobile robots (both traditional and autonomous).
• Perform system integration, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure high performance and reliability.

• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers for seamless system integration.
• Provide field engineering support for system retrofits and upgrades.
• Support project teams and customers during design reviews, installations, commissioning, and maintenance.
• Travel to customer sites for system start-up and troubleshooting support.
• Travel requirement: 10–30% overnight and local travel.
• Stay current on emerging technologies and advancements in control engineering.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field.
• Experience designing and programming control systems using PLCs and HMIs (Omron, Rockwell, and Mitsubishi platforms preferred).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage projects with minimal supervision
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Prior experience in automation or manufacturing is preferred.
