We are on a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Senior Process Technician – Blow Mold.
This role, you will be responsible for the operation, repair, and maintenance of high-volume blow molding equipment. You will actively mentor and develop Technicians by sharing technical expertise, supporting skill advancement, and serving as a technical resource, while also providing leadership support in the absence of the supervisor.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Evaluate Process Technicians’ skills and identify opportunities for development and improvement.
- Develop and implement training plans to enhance processing skills across all machine types.
- Provide hands-on training and coaching to Process Technicians requiring skill enhancement.
- Monitor and assess Process Technicians’ skill development to ensure training effectiveness.
- Develop at least one Process Technician per quarter through structured training and mentoring.
- Serve in a lead capacity by executing all activities within approved procedures and setting priorities to achieve established goals.
- Perform responsibilities of Supervisor, Set-Up Technician, or Relief personnel as needed due to absences or reassignments to maintain departmental efficiency and production quality.
- Ensure compliance with all safety rules and regulations by subordinates (Relief/Machine Operators, Material Handlers) within the assigned cell to reduce accidents and lost-time incidents.
- Coordinate and provide training for technicians and machine operators.
- Support shipping/receiving, production, quality assurance, maintenance, and other functional areas as required.
- Communicate clearly, timely, and effectively with employees and leadership at all levels of the organization.
- Responsible for the operation, repair, and maintenance of high volume blow molding equipment.
- Operate cranes and forklifts to safely replace and transport molds.
- Complete all required documentation, production records, and reports accurately and timely.
- Responsible for mold changes and machine adjustments.
- Start up and shut down machines in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Conduct minor equipment repairs and replace inserts as required.
- Perform data entry and utilize basic computer systems, including Oracle reporting.
- Monitor production quantities related to color changes, mold changes and product completions.
- Ensure production runs efficiently and meets quality standards on a first-pass basis.
- Maintain acceptable housekeeping and organization standards in accordance with 5S principles.
- Identify and resolve issues related to equipment, personnel, processes, training, and materials that impact quality, efficiency, or production output.
- Monitor equipment performance and submit maintenance repair requests to minimize scrap, downtime, and production losses.
- Conduct hourly machine inspections to ensure production of acceptable quality parts and prevent mass scrap.
- Maintain up-to-date machine boards to communicate status, targets, and goals to team members and incoming shift lead.
- Instruct and direct subordinates (Relief/Machine Operator, Material Handler) on tasks necessary to achieve optimal quality, efficiency, and productivity.
- Recommend improvements to processes, work practices, equipment performance, and operational efficiency.
- Accurately report daily shift performance metrics, including safety, quality, labor hours, production tickets, scrap, TruTrack, and first-part approvals.
- Promote positive employee relations and support a safe, secure, and respectful work environment.
- Verify production documentation, tooling, and material instructions prior to use in assigned processes.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications
A suitable background would be a solid experience within the following qualifications and experiences:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of blow molding plastics processing experience, including at least one (1) year in a lead or supervisory capacity.
- Language Skills: Able to read, write, speak and comprehend English.
- Math Skills: Able to add, subtract, multiple and divide.
- Experience in machine start-up and shutdown.
- Material Handling experience.
- Experience operating forklifts and cranes.

Physical Demands & Conditions
(Applicable to Igloo Operators, Technicians, Leaders, and Other Roles in Manufacturing)
Standing & Walking
Roles may involve extended periods (up to 12 hours) of standing and walking, including moving at a brisk pace and occasional stair climbing.
Postural Requirements
Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and working in low or awkward positions during production or maintenance tasks.
Lifting & Material Handling
- Operator-level roles may involve lifting up to 25 lb repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Technician-level roles may involve lifting up to 50 lb multiple times per day, including overhead lifts.
- Where possible, mechanical aids (e.g., hoists, forklifts) are used.
Fine Motor Skills & Tool Use
Use of both hands is required to operate tools, perform adjustments, and handle assembly materials with precision.
Visual Requirements
Sufficient visual acuity (e.g., 20/40 with or without correction) is necessary for tasks involving inspection and safe equipment operation.
Environmental Conditions
- Work is performed in a production setting where seasonal temperatures may range from 100–120°F (with humidity) in summer to cooler conditions in winter.
- High noise levels are common; hearing protection is provided and required.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as ear protection, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, gloves, and protective clothing may be required depending on the task.
Additional Job Considerations
These roles can be physically demanding, involving repetitive motions and long hours. Technicians may be required to handle heavy molds and materials; use of material handling equipment is provided and encouraged.
