The Spence School is an independent girls’ school in New York City serving students in grades K–12. We are seeking an Assistant Garde Manger / Assistant Pastry Chef to join our kitchen team at the Middle/Upper School campus, where we serve over 500 students (grades 5–12) and 125 faculty and staff daily.

JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic prep cook with 3–5 years of professional kitchen experience in restaurants, schools, or catering environments. This is a fast-paced, hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys variety, teamwork, and creativity. The Assistant Garde Manger / Assistant Pastry Chef reports to the Lead Garde Manger and supports daily salad production, assists with pastry preparation, and helps with catered events.
Flexibility, initiative, and a positive attitude are essential. Every day is different, and a willingness to jump in wherever needed is key to success in this role.

Hours worked: Full-time M-F 7 a.m.-3 p.m. (evenings/weekends as needed)
Location: Upper East Side
Compensation: $23-$26/hour, commensurate with experience
