Day shift Monday - Friday 8:00 - 4:30pm No weekends or holidays.
Pay Range
$20.80 - $31.20Major Responsibilities:
Our People-Demonstrates reliability in delivering/relaying information
Relays/processes information appropriately and in a timely manner
Initiates and coordinates phone calls to ancillary departments as required
Coordinates patient scheduling with appropriate physician
Demonstrates motivation and self direction
Maintains confidentiality in work environment
Quality-Manages data through manual entry and utilization of multiple computer programs
Demonstrates proficiency in computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Wound Data Management, etc)
Accurately enters wound care data info data base
Maintains clinical logs and statistics as delegated by Director
Creates appropriate data bases
Assists in creating/typing forms, letters, charts, etc
Documents thorough and accurate minutes from meetings
Initiates and completes forms/report accurately and in a timely manner
Financial-Performance Manages medical coding audits and checks for transcription
Audits medical documentation for appropriate use of evaluation and management codes
Maintains accurate report of transcription received
Service Excellence-Demonstrate support of organization
Role model Operation Excellence standards
Serves as unit/department representative on committees or program initiatives (i.e. United Way)
Growth-Collegiality
Shares knowledge and skill with colleagues
Works regularly with other clerical staff to establish linkages and consistency in reports and data
Safety-Demonstrates compliance
Demonstrates awareness and compliance with all fire safety policies
Participates in all facility fire safety drills
Demonstrates compliance with all patient confidentiality as related to HIPAA
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
None Required
Education Required:
High school diploma or GED. College degree in business or healthcare preferred
Experience Required:
Minimum one year of experience in healthcare setting with knowledge of medical terminology, patient registration, and billing experience in a physician office.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9, CPT coding, general office procedures, Must be able to type 40 wpm and have computer knowledge
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Must be able to see, hear, and verbally communicate both in person and by phone. Must be able to move about freely, access files, lift, and turn. Must have manual dexterity and visual acuity to type. Cannot have physical limitations that would prevent long periods of sitting, walking, bending, stooping or climbing (steps, stools, or ladders).
Works in a clean, well-lighted, heated and ventilated medical office environment. Subject to verbal or physical abuse from combative patients
