Job Summary:

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Sales Executive to join our team and drive advertising sales in our print publications, event space and digital offerings. The ideal candidate will be responsible for selling print advertising space in Dan’s Papers and developing relationships with businesses across the East End of Long Island. This role requires someone with strong communication skills, a knack for building lasting client relationships, and a passion for selling.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Sell Print Advertising: Prospect and close new clients for print ad space in Dan’s Papers across various sections such as local news, arts, events, and lifestyle.

  • Client Relationship Management: Build, maintain, and grow relationships with existing clients, ensuring they are happy with their campaigns and renewals.

  • Account Management: Collaborate with clients to understand their marketing goals and tailor advertising solutions to meet their needs.

  • Campaign Planning: Work with clients on campaign strategy, ad design, placement, and scheduling to ensure their objectives are met.

  • Lead Generation: Identify new business opportunities by prospecting potential advertisers in various industries such as local businesses, real estate, restaurants, and events.

  • Negotiation & Closing: Negotiate advertising packages and pricing, and close deals that align with both client needs and company goals.

  • Sales Targets: Meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals.

  • Collaborate with the Creative Team: Work with the design and editorial teams to ensure ads are creatively aligned with brand guidelines.

  • Market Research: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitive advertising offerings, and market conditions to make data-driven sales decisions.

  • Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all sales activities, client meetings, and ad bookings through CRM systems.

Skills & Qualifications:
  • Sales Experience: Proven track record of success in sales, preferably in print advertising, media, or a related industry.

  • Strong Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present and pitch advertising solutions effectively.

  • Relationship Building: Ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.

  • Negotiation Skills: Comfortable negotiating pricing and terms while maintaining strong, positive client relationships.

  • Goal-Oriented: Strong drive to meet and exceed sales goals, with a results-focused mindset.

  • Local Market Knowledge: Familiarity with the East End market and its businesses is preferred.

  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software .

  • Organized & Detail-Oriented: Ability to juggle multiple accounts, deadlines, and tasks efficiently.

  • Self-Starter: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in media sales, particularly print and digital advertising.

  • A strong network of contacts in the local business community.

  • Knowledge of digital advertising and cross-platform solutions is a plus.

  • A passion for the East End community and local businesses.
