Job Title: To-Go / Carryout Specialist
Department: Front of House
Reports To: Restaurant Manager/ General Manager
Location: Moderna Bar and Pizzeria
Classification: Non-Exempt / Hourly

Position Summary:
The To-Go / Carryout Specialist is responsible for managing all aspects of takeout and delivery orders, ensuring accuracy, speed, and guest satisfaction. This role serves as the final quality checkpoint before food leaves the restaurant. The ideal candidate provides exceptional customer service both in person and over the phone while maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet guests promptly and courteously, in person and over the phone.
• Take accurate orders through the POS system, confirming special requests and modifications.
• Communicate clearly with kitchen staff and ensure all orders are properly packaged and labeled.
• Double-check order accuracy, temperature, and presentation before handing it to the guest or delivery driver.
• Handle payment transactions (cash, credit, or third-party apps) efficiently and accurately.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the To-Go station, condiment area, and pickup shelves.
• Manage online ordering platforms (DoorDash, Grub Hub, Uber Eats, Toast, etc.) and communicate any order issues to management.
• Ensure guest satisfaction by addressing questions, concerns, or complaints promptly and professionally.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and COVID-19 safety procedures.
• Support other front-of-house team members during peak hours.

Qualifications:

• Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred.
• Strong communication and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Friendly, professional demeanor with excellent guest service skills.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Familiarity with POS systems and online ordering apps a plus.
• Must be TABC certified.
• Must have a valid Food Handlers Certification 
• Ability to multi-task.

Appearance & Conduct:

• Uniform must be clean, pressed, and properly fitted.
• Hair must be neat and pulled back if long.
• No visible rips or stains in clothing; non-slip shoes required.
• Maintain a professional, friendly, and service-oriented demeanor at all times.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Ability to bend, reach, and move quickly and efficient.
