Community-Based Learning Coordinator (CBLC)

The Community-Based Learning Coordinator supports the implementation of Lyon Colleges Title III Thriving Scots Program by coordinating the planning, development, and operational execution of Residential Learning Communities (RLCs) and related student engagement initiatives. Reporting to the Director of Title III, this position works collaboratively with Academic Affairs, Residence Life, and other campus partners to support academic engagement, mentoring, service-learning, and community-building efforts that promote student engagement, belonging, and academic success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of Residential Learning Communities (RLCs) in alignment with the Title III grant and approved timelines, including academic, mentoring, engagement, and service-learning components.
  • Collaborate with Residence Life and Academic Affairs to align housing, first-year success coursework, and co-curricular programming.
  • Coordinate and support Faculty Mentors assigned to RLCs and supervise and support Peer Coaches and Community Development Interns (CDIs).
  • Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, and training logistics for RLC personnel in collaboration with the Title III Director.
  • Coordinate and document service-learning activities associated with RLCs in alignment with grant expectations.
  • Maintain and oversee documentation and assist with data collection required for grant monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
  • Participate in Title III planning and coordination meetings and collaborate with campus partners to advance program goals.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in education, student affairs, social sciences, or a related field.
  • Experience working with college students in academic support, residence life, student engagement, or related areas.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Effective written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across departments and functional areas.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree in higher education, student affairs, counseling, or a related field.
  • Experience with learning communities, first-year programs, service-learning, or grant-funded initiatives.
  • Experience supervising student employees or paraprofessional staff.
  • Familiarity with student retention and success initiatives.
