About the Role:

The Press Operator role is critical in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of industrial presses used in manufacturing and production environments. The primary objective is to operate, monitor, and maintain press machinery to produce high-quality components or products according to specifications. This role requires a keen attention to detail to detect any irregularities or defects during the pressing process and to make necessary adjustments promptly. The Press Operator collaborates closely with quality control and maintenance teams to uphold safety standards and optimize production output. Ultimately, this position contributes significantly to meeting production targets while maintaining workplace safety and product excellence.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience operating industrial press machinery or similar manufacturing equipment.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of press operation principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, or work orders.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in press operation or industrial machinery operation.
  • Experience with hydraulic and mechanical press systems.
  • Familiarity with quality control processes and inspection techniques.
  • Basic computer skills for logging production data and machine settings.
  • Ability to perform minor maintenance and troubleshooting on press equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and calibrate press machines according to job specifications and production schedules.
  • Operate mechanical or hydraulic presses to shape, cut, or assemble materials such as metal, plastic, or composites.
  • Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to specifications, making adjustments to the press as needed.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of press equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for self and team members.
  • Document production data, machine settings, and any issues encountered during operation.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and maintenance personnel to troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions.

Attention to detail is essential for inspecting finished goods and identifying defects early in the production process.
