Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and certified A&P Mechanic III to join our aviation maintenance team. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for performing repairs, replacements, and maintenance on critical aircraft components, ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and safety standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and possesses strong diagnostic and technical skills in airframe and powerplant systems.
This is a Safety Sensitive Position that requires the highest level of professionalism and adherence to safety protocols, including handling hazardous materials, operating heavy machinery, and ensuring the security of aircraft and personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform repairs, replacements, and maintenance on aircraft airframes, powerplants, and related systems.
- Conduct inspections, diagnostics, and functional tests on mechanical and structural components.
- Replace defective or faulty parts using appropriate tools, equipment, and technical documentation.
- Ensure all work complies with FAA regulations, company procedures, and international aviation standards.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized hangar or workshop environment.
- Interpret and apply technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and FAA publications.
- Complete accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Support quality assurance processes and participate in FAA audits as required.
Required Qualifications
- Active, current FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certification with no prior violations.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Typically 5+ years of relevant aviation maintenance experience.
- Reliable transportation to and from work locations.
- Own set of tools in good working condition.
- Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
- Ability to pass and maintain a Class 3 FAA Physical, including hearing test.
- Proficient in interpreting technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, and maintenance manuals.
- Advanced skills in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining aircraft airframes and engines.
Preferred Qualifications
- FAA Repair Station and/or Quality Assurance experience.
- Willingness to travel regularly and work flexible shifts, including weekends and overtime.
- Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFARS).
- Background in Aerospace & Defense, U.S. Department of Defense, or U.S. Military.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.
