Position Summary

The night shift Shop Leadman will oversee daily shop operations, lead production teams, ensure quality standards, and drive continuous improvement. This role is essential to maintaining a safe, efficient, and productive work environment that meets production goals and supports customer success.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Supervision

  • Direct and supervise production personnel, including scheduling, coaching, and performance feedback.
  • Foster a positive team culture emphasizing accountability, safety, and quality.

Production Oversight

  • Plan and coordinate daily work flow to meet production schedules.
  • Monitor machine setups, tooling, and work-in-process to ensure on-time delivery.

Quality Assurance

  • Ensure products meet company and customer specifications.
  • Implement quality control checks and corrective measures when needed.

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce OSHA and company safety standards throughout the shop.
  • Lead safety meetings and training; ensure proper use of PPE.

Process Improvement

  • Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies; recommend improvements to increase productivity.
  • Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate production records and daily foreman reports.
  • Communicate production status and issues to management.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical training preferred.
  • 10+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience in machining, fasteners, or precision components a strong plus.

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of machining operations (CNC, lathes, mills) and Vertical and Horizontal
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical specifications using CAR system
  • Proficient with production planning and quality systems.
  • Must able to progam using Gcode

Certifications (Preferred)

  • OSHA 10/30 or similar safety training.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
  • Comfortable working in a shop environment with noise and machine activity.
