What You’ll Do
The Part-Time Nursing Tutor provides academic support to students enrolled in nursing programs by offering individualized and small‑group tutoring sessions. This role supports student success by helping learners strengthen clinical reasoning, nursing concepts, test‑taking strategies, and mastery of course content. The tutor collaborates with faculty and staff to identify student learning needs and reinforce program outcomes.
Key responsibilities will include:
Provide one-on-one and group tutoring for nursing students in areas such as:
Fundamentals of Nursing
Medical-Surgical Nursing
Pharmacology
Pathophysiology
Maternal–Newborn and Pediatric Nursing
Help students master NCLEX-style questions and clinical reasoning
Support learners in building confidence, improving study skills, and succeeding in a fast‑paced program
Collaborate with faculty to reinforce key nursing concepts and program outcomes
Work Schedule & Compensation
Part-time, up to 25 hours per week (as needed).
Flexible schedule including some afternoons or evenings based on student demand.
Compensation commensurate with experience.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a candidate who brings not only technical expertise but also a passion for education and student success.
Required Qualifications
Current RN license in good standing OR student with exceptional grades in the nursing courses.
Associate degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior tutoring, teaching, or clinical precepting experience.
Experience with NCLEX preparation strategies and question formats.
Familiarity with learning management systems and digital educational tools.
Demonstrated academic strength in key nursing content areas.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to coach and motivate students with varied learning styles.
