American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist for an outpatient position in Alpena, MI, requiring OT and pediatric experience along with an active Michigan OT license.

  • Primarily outpatient setting with some acute care involvement

  • Day shift schedule working 8-hour days, 40 hours per week

  • One Saturday per month required

Requirements\n
    \n
  • Active Michigan Occupational Therapist license required (license required if applicable)
  • \n
  • OT experience required
  • \n
  • Pediatric experience required
  • \n
  • Current AHA BLS certification required
  • \n
  • Current Occupational Therapy skills checklist (within the past year) required
  • \n
  • 2 supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years required
  • \n
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
  • \n
Additional Information\n
    \n
  • Evaluates patient function using formal and informal assessments across skeletal, neurological, respiratory, cardiovascular, developmental, social, and cognitive domains
  • \n
  • Develops and documents individualized, goal-specific treatment plans in coordination with physician orders
  • \n
  • Updates plans of care to reflect changes in patient status and co-signs verbal orders received by OT assistants as needed
  • \n
  • Devises frequency- and duration-specific treatment schedules in coordination with patients, families, caregivers, and clinical support staff
  • \n
  • Provides patient, family, and caregiver education on condition, prognosis, and treatment rationale
  • \n
  • Delegates responsibilities to Occupational Therapist Assistants and Aides, and provides supervision per regulatory standards
  • \n
  • Maximum of 5 days of RTO may be requested, and all scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of consideration — requests made after an offer is extended will not be approved
  • \n
