Job Overview:
This position is responsible for building commercial refrigerator equipment. Electrical and Refrigeration Technicians use compressors, evaporators, condensers, pumps, and pipe insulation to build equipment to customer specifications. Technicians must be able to operate shop machinery and use proper building techniques, such as brazing. Electrical and Refrigeration Technicians are assigned to a specific area in the manufacturing plant may also work with other departments and may perform other tasks as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Build commercial refrigerator equipment to customer specifications
- Operate shop machinery and basic hand tools
- Braze metal components as needed
- Identify and repair defects in equipment
- Work with build documents and basic drawings
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace/shop
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Education: High School or GED
- Experience: 1 - 3 months related experience and/or training
Other Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of commercial refrigerator equipment and how to use compressors, evaporators, condensers, pumps, and pipe insulation for manufacturing
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately to 1/16th of an inch
- Ability to add and subtract fractions
- Communicates well with others; asks for and offers help when needed
- Detail oriented; meets quality standards and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness
- Organized; completes work in a timely manner; able to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Problem-solver; gathers and analyzes information skillfully and generates suggestions for improving work
