Job Description
Join our team as a Precision Machinery Service Technician supporting two client locations in Novi, MI. This is a contract role through June 2026. You’ll work a day shift that begins at 6:00 a.m., typically in 10-hour blocks, with some Saturdays as needed. Compensation is up to $27 per hour, commensurate with experience.
A Day in the LifeYour morning starts on the floor, reviewing scheduled preventive maintenance across manual and CNC machines. You’ll tear down defective units, identify worn components, and either repair or replace parts before reassembly. As the day progresses, you may machine replacement parts, troubleshoot complex electrical issues on CNC and plant equipment, and assist the Machine Repair and Mobile Equipment Mechanic. You’ll also handle light building upkeep—such as basic electrical, plumbing, and cement work—and keep mobile equipment and facility systems in reliable working order.
What You’ll Tackle- Maintain, install, and repair diverse machine tools and equipment across two Novi facilities
- Tear down damaged/defective units; replace or repair worn components; reassemble and verify operation
- Perform limited machining on replacement parts when needed
- Diagnose and resolve electrical issues on CNC, manual, and other plant machines
- Execute preventive maintenance on building systems, production machinery, and mobile equipment
- Assist Machine Repair and Mobile Equipment Mechanic as required
- Perform minor facility maintenance (light electrical, plumbing, cement work)
You’re comfortable moving between mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, and you thrive on getting machines back into spec quickly and safely.
- Preventive maintenance and repair on manual and CNC equipment
- Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
- Proficiency with 120/208/240/480 V and other high-voltage systems
- Hands-on CNC machine repair and electrical troubleshooting/installation/repair
- Hydraulics and pneumatics troubleshooting
- Mechanical diagnostics and machine safety inspections
- Blueprint reading and accurate tape measure use
- Strong general maintenance and repair skills
- Plumbing fundamentals
- Contract through June 2026
- Day shift starting at 6:00 a.m.; 10-hour days
- Saturdays may be required
- Pay rate: up to $27/hour, depending on experience
