The Ways to Work program supports individuals and families by increasing access to reliable transportation and providing financial literacy education that promotes long-term stability. Our work centers equity, access, and practical tools that help people move toward their goals.


Internship Overview

The Program Support & Financial Literacy Intern will assist with curriculum preparation, special projects, and outreach materials that support financial literacy classes and the Ways to Work program. This internship offers hands-on experience in nonprofit program operations, education, and community outreach.


Key Responsibilities

Intern responsibilities may include:

  • Assembling and organizing participant packets for financial literacy classes
  • Formatting, proofreading, and updating curriculum materials
  • Creating worksheets or simple learning activities
  • Supporting special projects related to the Ways to Work program
  • Assisting with intake materials, FAQs, or internal documentation
  • Helping create outreach presentations, one-pagers, or flyers
  • Preparing PowerPoint or Canva presentations for community outreach
  • Conducting light research on financial literacy or workforce mobility topics


Learning Outcomes

Interns will gain experience in:

  • Financial literacy education support
  • Nonprofit program operations
  • Outreach and presentation development
  • Project coordination and professional communication


Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student
  • Interest in nonprofit work, financial literacy, education, public policy, or community development
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Google Docs; PowerPoint or Canva experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • No prior financial or nonprofit experience required


Supervision

  • Supervised by the Program Manager
  • Weekly check-ins and ongoing feedback
  • Clear expectations and project guidance
