Description\n

American Traveler is hiring a first-time-traveler-eligible RN for an ICU position at an acute care facility in Redwood, CA, requiring Epic experience and a valid CA RN license.

Details\n

\n
• Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) in an acute care hospital setting
\n
• Average daily census of 4 patients
\n
• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM–6:30 PM
\n
• 2 out of every 4 weekends required; weekend defined as 2 consecutive days Friday–Sunday
\n
• Floating required within the hospital and to nearby affiliate facilities
\n
• Epic EMR experience required
\n
• 13-week contract
\n

Requirements\n

\n
• Active CA RN license required; pending CA license accepted
\n
• Current certifications required: BLS and ACLS; PALS required
\n
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
\n
• Epic EMR experience required
\n
• Proficiency with IV therapy, central line care/management, PICC line management, and arterial line management
\n
• Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), and ABG interpretation
\n
• Experience with vasoactive and cardiac drip titration, continuous IV sedation, and emergency medications
\n
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
\n
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty required
\n
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
\n

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates; local candidates are accepted at a different rate
\n
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
\n
• Travelers are expected to float between all facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
\n
• Holiday coverage required for 2 out of 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
\n
• RTO is limited to no more than 7 days for the duration of the assignment
\n
• Scrubs or business casual attire permitted
\n
