Stormwater Project Manager

Our client, an award-winning and well-established water resources consulting firm, is seeking a Professional Engineer to support municipal water, wastewater, and stormwater projects out of its Fort Wayne office. This role offers exposure across the full project lifecycle, from planning and design through construction support, with strong compensation and incentive pay tied to effort and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver municipal water, wastewater, and stormwater projects from concept through construction
• Perform conceptual planning and feasibility studies
• Prepare engineering design reports and technical memoranda
• Develop plans, specifications, and contract documents
• Provide bidding and construction engineering support
• Design and analyze:
• Pump stations
• Sanitary and stormwater collection systems
• Water distribution systems
• Water and wastewater treatment facilities
• Coordinate with municipalities, internal teams, and contractors
• Mentor and support junior engineers

Requirements

• B.S. in Civil Engineering or related discipline
• M.S. or Ph.D. a plus
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensed in Indiana or Kentucky
• Reciprocity acceptable
• Experience with municipal water/wastewater/stormwater systems
• Ability to work independently while collaborating within a team
• Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Experience with Visual Hydraulics and/or WaterGEMS
• Broad exposure across planning, design, and construction support
• Interest in mentoring and technical leadership
• Creative, problem-solving mindset

Compensation

Base salary ranges (commensurate with experience and years as a PE):

• PE < 5 years: $90,000 – $110,000
• PE 5–10 years: $110,000 – $120,000
• PE 10–15 years: $120,000 – $130,000
• PE 15–20 years: $130,000 – $150,000
• PE 20+ years: $150,000 – $180,000
