Job Description
DESCRIPTION:
The Sales Consultant plays a key role in driving revenue by connecting with prospective customers interested in painting services. This position involves meeting clients on site, evaluating project needs, preparing accurate estimates, and clearly explaining the value of the company’s services to secure new business. The Sales Consultant develops strong customer relationships and partners closely with the production team to ensure a smooth handoff and high levels of customer satisfaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sales & Lead Development
• Proactively engage prospective customers to generate new business opportunities
• Conduct on site and in home consultations to assess project scope and provide accurate estimates
• Close sales by clearly presenting service offerings and value to clients
• Participate in local field activities, events, and trade shows to increase brand awareness and lead flow
Customer Experience & Relationship Management
• Build trust and long term relationships with customers through responsive and professional service
• Serve as the primary point of contact throughout the sales process
• Communicate customer expectations clearly to the production team to support successful project delivery
• Partner with operations to ensure projects are completed on time and within scope
Sales Planning & Market Awareness
• Execute local sales initiatives aligned with revenue and growth targets
• Monitor market conditions, customer needs, and industry trends
• Continuously strengthen sales techniques and product knowledge
Documentation & Reporting
• Maintain accurate and timely records of leads, estimates, and closed sales
• Track sales activity and update systems to ensure data accuracy
• Document customer requirements and project details for execution and future reference
REQUIREMENTS:
• Experience in sales or customer service, preferably in residential or on site service environments
• Self driven with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Intermediate to advanced sales skills, including lead generation and closing
• Basic understanding of the painting or home services industry
• Strong math skills to estimate project scope, materials, and labor
• Basic computer proficiency for recordkeeping and sales tracking
• Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Advanced sales training
• Previous experience in on site or home service sales
EDUCATION:
• High School Diploma required
• Valid Driver’s License required
EXPERIENCE:
• One to two years of experience in sales or customer service roles
