Excavating Equipment Operator

Position Details

• Operate a variety of heavy equipment to accomplish difficult or highly complex tasks
• Prior to operating equipment, conducts routine inspections to identify needed maintenance or repairs
• Maintains records of time worked and materials used
• Performs other related duties as assigned
• Competitive wages based on experience
• 40+ hours per week during spring, summer, and fall

Required Skills/Abilities

• The operator must have experience running equipment
• Experience in rigging and moving heavy objects on the job site
• Valid driver's license
• Class A license is preferred, however not required
• Knowledge of soils and compaction
• Ability to read construction staking or the willingness to learn
• A basic understanding of plan reading or the willingness to learn
• Basic construction surveying knowledge or the willingness to learn
• Willingness to understand and accept safety standards
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in written form
• Must maintain flexibility in the schedule during the busy season
• Willingness to work hard and be reliable
