Position Description:
The Clinical Administrative Coordinator II provides intermediate-level administrative and clinical coordination support to medical and clinical staff. This role independently manages routine clinical workflows and supports more complex care coordination activities while serving as a key point of contact between providers, members, and internal teams.
The ideal candidate is an experienced healthcare administrative professional who demonstrates strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
Duties:
Clinical & Administrative Support
- Provide administrative and clinical coordination support to physicians, advanced practice providers, and licensed nursing staff.
- Independently manage scheduling, documentation, and follow-up tasks to support provider efficiency.
- Apply working knowledge of clinical workflows to resolve routine operational issues.
Care Coordination & Continuity of Care
- Coordinate member care activities, including referrals, authorizations, diagnostic services, and pharmacy coordination.
- Serve as an administrative liaison to internal teams and external partners to support continuity of care.
- Monitor and track care coordination activities to ensure timely completion and communication.
Workflow & Operational Support
- Manage member visit flow, including pre-visit preparation, appointment coordination, and post-visit follow-up.
- Identify workflow inefficiencies and escalate process improvement opportunities to senior staff or leadership.
- Support onboarding or informal training of Clinical Administrative Coordinator I staff as needed.
Communication & Collaboration
- Serve as a reliable point of contact for providers, members, and care teams.
- Communicate clearly and professionally across departments to resolve issues.
- Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
- 3–4 years of experience in a healthcare administrative, clinical coordination, or medical office role.
- Demonstrated experience supporting providers and managing clinical workflows.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, referrals, and care coordination processes.
- Proficiency with EHR/EMR systems and standard office software.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
