Summary:

In an effort to ensure consistency with branch operations and customer care, the Teller Trainer is responsible for coordinating and providing all initial and on-going teller-specific training. Ensuring that all Tellers are fluent in all Bank specific programs and processes are consistent throughout the entire Bank network.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma; Associates Degree in business or related field preferred. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience: A thorough knowledge of teller operations. Two to four years of teller specific experience preferred.

Essential Functions:

  • Trains new Tellers on all aspects of the Teller position - bank policy, procedures, etc.
  • Accompanies the new Teller to the branch for further training at their designated branch.
  • Trains existing Tellers on any policy or procedures changes.
  • Trains existing Tellers on an individual bases in areas where improvement is required.
  • Attends on-going education in order to stay up-to-date on industry changes and brings that training back to the branches.
  • Works closely with the Teller Operations Manager to ensure compliance with company requirements and on-going training requirements.
  • Works closely with the Teller Operations Manager and Human Resources to monitor teller issues in order to identify gaps in skills and competencies, thus identifying training needs.
  • Serves as a resource to Tellers, answering questions, as needed, on procedures and policies.
  • Serves as a backup for Tellers throughout the branch network, as needed.
  • Trains all Tellers in BPM, ensuring complete competency.
  • Trains all Tellers on how to open new accounts and maintenance existing customer accounts.
  • Trains all Tellers on all Sutton Bank products and services.
  • Trains Tellers on small lending procedures/documents to ensure a transition to a Universal Banker role.
  • Works closely with the Teller Operations Manager to develop and maintain procedure manuals for the Teller role.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • The ability to communicate effectively and clearly, both in verbal and written communications, as well as, present information to groups of managers, employees, customers, and the general public.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong knowledge of the business area(s) that are being supported.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Technical writing, to include policies, reports, procedure manuals, and general correspondence.
  • Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
