Accountant

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills, a solid understanding of GAAP, and experience with various accounting software. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, supporting financial reporting, compliance, and analysis across multiple sectors including corporate, non-profit, and governmental accounting. The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent analytical skills, proficiency in financial concepts, and the ability to mentor junior team members.  Temp to hire   Located in Anaheim, CA  Offering $25-30/hr.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP and regulatory requirements
• Manage general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and journal entries using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and bank reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial data
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Perform financial report writing and interpretation to support management decision-making
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to optimize cash flow and financial performance
• Ensure compliance with SOX regulations and other regulatory reporting standards
• Support internal audits and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of securities law, tax regulations, Wills, trusts & estate law as applicable to client portfolios or organizational needs
• Mentor junior staff members in technical accounting procedures and best practices
• Collaborate on special projects related to corporate finance, private equity investments, or government contracts

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred
• 2-3 years of proven experience as Accountant or closely related role.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, accrual accounting, double entry bookkeeping, and financial concepts
• Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms, Nav Dynamics 365 preferred
• Familiarity with financial analysis tools including Microsoft Excel (advanced skills), or other financial software applications
• Ability to interpret complex financial reports and perform detailed account analysis
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
• Strong communication skills for financial report writing and presentation purposes
• Demonstrated mentoring abilities and a collaborative team approach
