The Airport Facility Maintenance Technician at ABM is responsible for performing routine and corrective maintenance to ensure airport facilities operate safely, efficiently, and meet ABM quality and customer service standards. This position supports airport operations by maintaining building systems and responding to service requests in a high-security environment.
Pay: $27 per hour.

Responsibilities
Facility Maintenance & Operations
- Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and corrective repairs on airport facilities including terminals, restrooms, offices, mechanical rooms, and common areas
- Maintain and repair building systems such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, doors, flooring, and general mechanical equipment
- Respond promptly and professionally to work orders, service calls, and emergency maintenance requests
- Conduct work in airside and landside areas in compliance with airport, FAA, TSA, OSHA, and ABM safety and security policies
- Inspect tools, equipment, and materials to ensure proper working condition and report deficiencies
- Accurately document work performed using ABM work order and reporting systems
- Support facility upgrades, special projects, and tenant requests
Client Communication & Customer Service
- Communicate professionally with airport clients, tenants, airline representatives, and airport staff regarding maintenance issues and service requests
- Provide timely updates on work progress and resolution of maintenance concerns
- Address client questions or concerns courteously and escalate issues to supervisors when necessary
- Represent ABM in a professional manner at all times
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all ABM safety policies and airport security procedures
- Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and required certifications
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
Other Duties as Assigned
- Perform additional duties, responsibilities, or special projects as assigned by ABM management
- Provide coverage for team members during absences or peak operational periods
- Assist with inspections, audits, emergency response, and operational readiness activities
- Support cross-functional teams and collaborate with other ABM service lines as needed
- Adapt to changing schedules, priorities, and operational demands in a fast-paced airport environment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school certification preferred
- Minimum of 1–3 years of facility maintenance or building maintenance experience
- Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, manuals, and safety procedures
- Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain airport security clearance and airfield access
- Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and time-management skills
- Customer-focused attitude with strong communication skills
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in an airport, transportation hub, or large commercial facility
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
- EPA Universal Certification or other trade-related certifications
Working Conditions
