Kamatics is seeking a Machinist II (1st Shift) who maintains effectiveness in a changing work environment, embraces new approaches, and views new challenges as opportunities. This position demonstrates a strong understanding of machining principles, manufacturing processes, and the products produced, applying machining knowledge to achieve precise and consistent results.

Responsibilities:

  • Under close technical supervision, set up, operate, and adjust computer numerically controlled machine tools to perform standard and repetitive sequences of operations where programs are provided. Operations include drilling, honing, boring, milling and turning, screw machine operation, etc., on routine and repetitive operations.
  • Check parts for conformance to specifications.
  • Perform all responsibilities within productivity and quality expectations. Follow work procedures.
  • Maintain clean and safe work environment. Follow safety and environmental procedures and regulations. Report safety incidents to supervisor.
  • Make recommendations for improvements to work processes. Contribute to 5S program in work area.
  • Provide a high level of service to all internal and external customers. Contribute to positive teamwork environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Participate in learning other positions. Accomplish related results as needed.

 

Requirement/Qualifications:  

Education:  High school education or equivalent. Machining Certification from an accredited school or program preferred. 

Years Experience:  6 months -1 year of machining experience or equivalent required

Skills: 

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with exposure to machining process and shop mathematics.
  • Basis understanding of blueprint and GD&T reading.
  • Demonstrated ability to trouble shoot issues and strong problem-solving skills.   
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills.  
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills .
  • Dependable; come to work on time and stay for the shift to complete work as assigned.  
  • Strong communication skills.  

 

Physical Requirements:  

  • Lifting up to 40 pounds
  • Continual standing
  • Frequent bending, twisting, and grasping items/tools.
  • Frequent mental and visual attention 
  • Constant standing and frequent walking 
  • Occasional sitting
