Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position in Lima, OH, requiring 2+ years of experience, telemetry competency, and an active OH or Compact RN license.

Details\n

\n
• 13-week contract in a hospital Med/Surg Telemetry unit
\n
• 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 36 hours per week
\n
• Every other weekend required
\n
• No on-call responsibilities
\n
• Floating to all units within skill level may be required
\n

Requirements\n

\n
• Active OH or Compact RN license required (must be verified active in Nursys)
\n
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
\n
• Active NIHSS certification required
\n
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
\n
• Competency with cardiac medications including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Heparin, Cardene, Dobutamine, Lasix, and Bumex, including titration
\n
• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and heart rhythm interpretation
\n
• Ability to recognize and respond to changes in patient status, including stroke signs and symptoms
\n
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills
\n

Additional Information\n

\n
• Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care using age-specific criteria
\n
• Assists in directing and teaching non-RN staff including LPNs, PCTs, and Unit Secretaries
\n
• A current Med/Surg Telemetry skills checklist (within the past year) is required for consideration
\n
• RTO requests are limited to no more than 5 days for the duration of the contract
\n
• Candidates seeking more than 50% of holidays off may experience a longer decision timeline
