Part-time Shift(s): MON TUE WED THU 6:00am - 2:00pm
Up to 28 hours/week

OVERVIEW:
Working as Part-time Fabrication General, you will be primarily responsible for fabrication of various items including Fastenal's proprietary sortation equipment. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
o Fabricating of various items including Fastenal's proprietary sortation Equipment
o Cutting, welding, bending and shaping of metals per approved drawings
o Utilizing paint booths to paint metal fabrications
o Maintaining and cleaning all equipment at the fabrication shop
o Pulling and preparing racking items to ship for Fastenal branches and distribution centers
o Answering emails and phone requests for fabricated items and pallet racking
o Installing and rebuilding multiple types of sorting equipment at our distribution centers

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:
o Possess a current full valid driver's license issued in the country where the job is located (including successful completion of any applicable graduated license program for your state or province) as well as the ability to meet our driving record requirements to use a company vehicle, as needed
o Possess 1 year of experience in a fabrication environment
o Possess prior welding experience
o Excellent written and oral communication skills
o Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite
o Exhibit strong problem solving, critical thinking and deductive reasoning skills
o Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities
o Highly motivated, self directed and customer service oriented
o Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
o Work independently as well as in a team environment
o Willingness to travel occasionally to our Distribution Centers across North America, including Canada
o Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork
o Lift, slide and lower packages that typically weigh 25lbs-50lbs and may weigh up to 75lbs
o Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico, and Guam ONLY)

PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
o Posses prior paint booth experience
o Prior construction or mechanical experience
o Knowledge in the use of AutoCAD
o Demonstrate the ability to read and interpret blueprints

COMPENSATION:
The pay range for this position is $17/hr -19/hr.
