Location: Anderson, Indiana
Salary: $90,000 – $120,000 per year, based on experience

About the Role
First Call Direct Hire is recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturing company in Anderson, IN, for a hands-on Electrical / Automation Engineer. In this role, you’ll design and implement industrial control systems, develop SCADA solutions, and drive operational efficiency across production processes. This is an exciting opportunity for engineers passionate about automation, data integration, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and optimize equipment control systems, data acquisition systems, and vision systems for production
- Improve manufacturing processes, including machining, turning, heat treat, and coating operations
- Develop SCADA packages for HMIs, IIoT, MES, and reporting applications
- Integrate machine PLC data with SQL servers and visualization software for real-time analytics
- Troubleshoot automation/process issues to reduce downtime and improve productivity
- Design electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic controls to meet NEC and OSHA compliance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet cost, quality, and delivery goals
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years in a manufacturing automation role
- Strong PLC and HMI programming skills
- Experience with SCADA software (Ignition or similar) and SQL scripting
- Familiarity with robotics, servo controllers, VFDs, and vision systems
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
