BigFoot Staffing is partnering with a respected automotive service operation in beautiful Bend, Oregon, to add a Senior Light Duty Diesel Diagnostic Technician to their team. This role is ideal for an experienced professional who excels at complex troubleshooting, takes ownership of accurate diagnostics, and plays a key role in delivering efficient, high quality repairs.
This position is best suited for a diesel expert with a strong background in domestic platforms and the ability to clearly communicate diagnostic findings to support smooth and effective service operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead in-depth diagnostic evaluations on light-duty diesel vehicles
- Utilize advanced aftermarket scan tools to isolate mechanical, electrical, and emissions-related faults
- Perform precision repairs across diesel systems, including fuel delivery, forced induction, emissions components, and driveline systems
- Produce clear, detailed documentation outlining diagnostic results, repair actions, and recommended next steps
- Work closely with service advisors and shop leadership to ensure accurate estimates and timely job completion
- Maintain current knowledge of diesel technology, service procedures, and diagnostic best practices
Qualifications
- 10+ years of hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing domestic light-duty diesel vehicles
- Proven expertise working with Cummins, Power Stroke, and Duramax engine platforms
- Advanced working knowledge of Mitchell 1 and Identifix systems
- Strong command of diesel powertrain systems, vehicle electronics, and emissions compliance
- ASE certifications required or willingness to obtain shortly after hire
- Highly developed troubleshooting skills with a methodical, detail-focused approach
Position Details & Benefits
- Pay Range: $40–$50/hour, based on experience
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
