Fiberglass Technician

Job Description:

We are hiring a skilled Fiberglass Technician to support our manufacturing and fabrication operations. This role focuses on fiberglass layup, composite fabrication, finishing, and repair while maintaining high quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate has hands-on fiberglass or composites experience, strong attention to detail, and the flexibility to assist other departments as production demands change.

This is a full-time, long-term opportunity for a dependable technician who takes pride in craftsmanship and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform fiberglass layup, lamination, molding, trimming, sanding, and finishing
• Mix and apply resins, gel coats, catalysts, and solvents
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches, and work orders
• Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy
• Troubleshoot fiberglass, composite, and equipment-related issues
• Assist with mold preparation, spraying, painting, and cleaning
• Safely operate hand and power tools (saws, grinders, sanders, drills, etc.)
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Support other departments during slow production periods as needed

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or production
• 3–5 years fiberglass or composite experience preferred (or industry training/certification)
• Ability to read tape measures, perform basic math, and use measuring tools
• Strong understanding of fiberglass materials, processes, and SDS safety practices
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and specifications
• Experience working with chemicals, resins, paints, and vapors
• Detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
• Willingness to learn additional skills (forming, welding, painting, etc.)
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Punctual with good attendance; able to work 40+ hours per week and overtime as needed
• Flexible schedule and adaptable to changing priorities
