This position is based on-site at our office in Santa Ana, CA.
How you will contribute
Our Payroll Specialist supports our business clients by delivering expert payroll processing and our additional services. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for establishing and maintaining employee payroll records.
- Accurately enters andmaintainsemployee related information in the payroll system, including, but not limited to personnel changes, wage adjustments, garnishments, child support and liens, tax withholding changes, direct deposit, special withholdings, compensation, and state unemployment codes, leave of absence, and termination forms.
- Administersall payrolls within an assigned portfolio of customers, ensuring all customerpayrollare processed ina timelyandaccuratemanner, and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Responsible for processing a variety of different payroll scenarios- weekly, semi-monthly, and custom calendar, hourly, salary, commissions, multi-state, etc.
- Producespreliminary payroll reports and compare them against time sheets and other payroll data, to confirm accuracy.
- Verify time and attendance records, wage computation, hours worked and pay adjustments, and post information intoappropriate records.
- Develop andmaintainpositive relationships with each client, serving as a trusted, go-to source for payroll processing support and best-practice recommendations.
- Respond to customer telephone and/or email inquiries and takeappropriate action, in compliance with customers Service Level Agreements.
- Responsible for quality control and auditing to ensure accuracy and low error or defect percentage.
- Assistwith month-end, quarter-end and year-end processes including communicating with clients on ACA activities and W2 pay/deduction code mapping verifications.
- Assistwith the training and re-education sessions with customers on system functions and changes in the regulatory environment.
- Assistand/or manage updates tocustomersleave (PTO) plans and ancillary products such as benefits and 401(k) plans.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree inan accounting, finance or business, or equivalent work experience.
- FPC certification or 3-5 years of automated payroll systems experience.
- Previouspayroll processing experience in aclient facingenvironment, such as a Service Bureau Organization (SBO).
- Direct experience in a variety of SaaS payroll systems, and your ability to learn new ones.
- Background with in-house payroll processing experience in a small to mid-sized business is highlypreferred, butnotrequired.
- Intermediate experience and knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook software.
- Finesse- your ability to deliver under tight deadlines or unusual or critical situations.
- Project management skills to execute while navigating through a variety of different tasks.
- Professional presentation of writteninformation,that is clear and effective for your success with your clients.
- Collaborative, team minded successful attitude, for your customers success.
- Polished communication skillsbothverbal and written.
Compensation
The base hourly range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00, based on relevant experience, skills, and industry knowledge.
