Position Summary:
The Customer Service and Marketing Representative is a dual-role position that supports residential energy customers by providing friendly, reliable customer service while leading marketing efforts focused on propane customers. This role serves as a primary point of contact for residential customers, assisting with account inquiries, fuel orders, deliveries, and service requests. In addition, the position supports marketing initiatives designed to engage, retain, and grow the residential propane customer base through targeted communications, promotions, and outreach efforts. The Customer Service and Marketing Representative collaborates closely with operations, sales, and leadership to ensure consistent customer experience and effective messaging for propane products and services.
Essential Functions:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for residential customers, providing friendly, professional support by phone, email, and in person
- Respond to customer inquiries related to accounts, billing, fuel orders, deliveries, and service requests
- Coordinate with operations to schedule deliveries, initiate service requests, and support new and existing account setups
- Maintain accurate and organized customer records using Agfinity’s software programs
- Resolve customer issues in a timely manner and escalate concerns as appropriate to ensure customer satisfaction
Marketing (Propane Customers):
- Support and execute marketing initiatives focused on residential propane customers
- Assist with customer communications, including emails, mailings, promotions, and seasonal outreach
- Create and update marketing materials and presentations using Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
- Use Microsoft Excel to track customer data, campaign activity, and marketing results
- Support customer retention and growth efforts through targeted campaigns and follow-up
Technology & Collaboration:
- Learn and effectively use Agfinity’s software programs to support customer service, order processing, and marketing efforts
- Collaborate closely with operations, sales, and leadership to ensure consistent messaging and a seamless customer experience
- Share customer feedback and insights to support continuous improvement
- Assist with additional projects or duties as assigned
Education:
High School Diploma
Experience:
- Previous customer service experience preferred; marketing or customer communications experience is a plus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers
- Excellent organizational, time management, and attention-to-detail skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, including operations, sales, and leadership
- Proficiency with basic computer systems and office software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Willingness and ability to learn and effectively use Agfinity’s software programs
- Friendly, dependable, and customer-focused attitude with a commitment to delivering a positive customer experience
Preferred Marketing Skills:
- Experience supporting or executing customer-focused marketing campaigns
- Familiarity with customer databases, CRM systems, or email marketing tools
- Ability to assist with content creation for customer communications, promotions, and presentations
- Experience tracking, organizing, or reporting marketing data using Excel or similar tools
- Interest in residential energy or propane products and services
Work Environment & Schedule:
- This position is based in an office setting and requires regular, in-person attendance
- Remote or hybrid work is not available for this role
- The role involves daily interaction with customers and internal team members in the office, by phone, and via email
- Standard business hours apply, with occasional flexibility based on business needs
