Job Title: Purchasing Administrative Assistant
Location: Temple, TX
Reports To: Purchasing Manager
Primary duties will include:
• Perform the day-to-day activities of clerical support for the purchasing department. This work will include frequent interaction with team members and departmental managers to determine their needs for goods and services.
• Serve as meeting scheduler & scribe (keeping up with notes, action items, deadlines, etc.)
• Track status of orders & verify confirmations against purchase orders, while researching discrepancies & making corrections.
• E-mail customer care and production/shipping with delivery dates on out/low parts scheduled for delivery
• Serve as primary backup to the Purchasing Specialists in the department.
• Update NetSuite with price changes
• Purchase order & usage reports maintenance
• Set the highest ethical standards for self and others.
• Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment with keen attention to details.
• Self-motivated, autonomous, and flexible team player with a positive, can-do attitude (problem solving vs problem starting).
• Ability to present new methodologies and ideas, while remaining receptive to constructive feedback and peer review.
• Excellent with time management; ability to re-prioritize based on changing tasks and/or deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Prior experience with NetSuite
• Able and willing to work overtime, as required.
Education:
• High School Diploma required.
The essential physical & environmental requirements of the position are:
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 20 lbs. without assistance.
• Ability to use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer and perform repetitive tasks.
• Ability to hear sounds and differentiate between them.
• Ability to visually understand distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and have color vision.
